Tooth Whitening?
Many people ask "Is bleaching right for me?" The answer is easy: Most people can and would benefit from bleaching. It can lighten yellow, orange or light musky brown colorations. It has also been shown to lighten tetracycline stains over a three month period.
The next question is often "Will it hurt my teeth?" It won't, but it can cause some sensitivity while you are bleaching, especially to cold liquid. This sensitivity will stop when you stop bleaching and does not occur for everyone.
How does it work? We fabricate a custom tray to be worn either at night or twice a day for an hour each time. The tray is made after two impressions are done at the office. The material that is placed in the tray is carbamide peroxide and it can vary in the percent used, usually a higher percent means stronger material. This material then oxidizes the tooth which removes the stains.
